Welcome to the official website of Ordo Astri, the Order of the Star. Ordo Astri is an international college of Thelema that has its headquarters in southwest England, U.K. Those who wish to dedicate themselves to a serious and prolonged course of occult study and practice may aspire to Initiation through the grades or degrees of the Order. The structure of our college is based on the Hermetic Tree of Life. This will be familiar to those who have studied the Qabalah, Alchemy, Gnosticism, Western Magical Tradition, the historical Orders of the Golden Dawn, Alpha et Omega, Argenteum Astrum and Ordo Templi Orientis. Those who have read the works of such luminaries as Eliphaz Levi, Aleister Crowley, Dion Fortune, W.E. Butler, W.G. Gray and Kenneth Grant will be acquainted with the rich Hermetic tradition that underpins the contemporary work of Ordo Astri. Probationers of Ordo Astri undergo a guided correspondence course in Hermetic Qabalah involving study, meditation, ritual and the keeping of a magical diary Record. Those who enrol in the course are required to purchase either an electronic or a printed edition of our book, Hermetic Qabalah – A Foundation in the Art of Magick (see below). Entry to the grades of Initiation is by invitation only, and there are no membership dues. Voluntary donations to assist the work of the Order are welcome. Hermetic Qabalah – A Foundation in the Art of Magick

The book is a useful guide for those working through our correspondence course and an invaluable reference for anyone with serious interest in the subject, whether they are beginners or advanced practitioners. The final section of the book is extracted from our knowledge papers and indicates some of the requirements expected from a Probationer 0=0 to the Order, as well as giving an outline of our curriculum and grade structure. Also in preparation and scheduled for publication in 2010 e.v. is Liber Stellae Tenebrae, a book that covers diverse matters such as occult cosmology, the Orbicular Tree (Tree of Life in a Sphere) and the Bornless Ritual as used by Initiates of Ordo Astri. It includes five chapters that were omitted from published editions of The Ending of the Words – Magical Philosophy of Aleister Crowley. The ‘forbidden content’ covers the inner occult workings of Ordo Astri that led to formal acceptance of the Aeon of Hormaku or Hrumachis. The Qabalistic and other content of Stellae Tenebrae provides keys to a deeper understanding of The Ending of the Words, as well as the entire ritual magick basis of the cult of Ordo Astri. Knowledge Books The Neophyte 1=10, Zelator 2=9, Practicus 3=8, Philosophus 4=7 and Dominus Liminis knowledge books have been revised (as of 13th June, 2010 e.v.) and are being prepared for private publication in printed book and electronic format under one cover, Ritual Magick of the Order of the Star. The knowledge books are provided for our members free of charge as seperate electronic editions, one for each grade. The Flaming Sword is the Sepher Sephiroth (Qabalistic "Book of Numbers") developed by members of the Order through many years of study and practice. We have (unpublished) archives dating from the middle of the last century to the present time, consisting of letters, manuscripts, ritual workings, diary records and experimental research projects. Resources Our online Glossary of Magical and Qabalistic Terminology is indispensable to the study of Liber AL vel Legis, the Book of the Law and the Occult Science. The glossary is reproduced from our aforementioned publication, The Ending of the Words – Magical Philosophy of Aleister Crowley. It contains key qabalistic, metaphysical and analogous scientific terms used in our research of Liber AL vel Legis, the Book of the Law. Information on the many ancient Egyptian gods and cult centres associated with Thelemic magick has been organised in a coherent manner and cross-referenced. Practitioners of the magical arts will find here vital keys of knowledge that are generally excluded or overlooked in the literature on this abstruse subject. Those with understanding of the use of magical correspondences will find here far more than merely a dictionary of terms.
